OS Giken Super Single Clutch
Hi everyone here. Just now I went to my buddy's garage and he own a civic 1992 4 doors like mine. But he got B18cr jdm spec everything there and when he press the clutch noise sound like a ring. He told me that was a racing clutch(more grip). He said there are two famous brand for ring clutch in the market, one is OGURA and the other one is OS Giken, They are in a set flywheel , clutch plate and spring. He told me he is using OS Giken. When I press the clutch, I need to use more energy to press it and it's hard like pressing an damn old truck clutch. If for daily ride that gonna kill me and making me hungry always. I never use OGURA brand but my friends say OGURA outlooks more pretty (since is bolt inside the gearbox, who cares)and feel softer a lot than OS GIKEN and cheaper, that cause most buyer would buy. He said OS Giken is the best for track of it's quick responsive and grip. While OGURA best for street and moderate upper track. I don't know cos I never use them both before.
I took a ride of his car. I drive it with several fail clutch release
(damn it's easy to making engine off) I drive like a newbie who is just learn to drive. But Finally I managed to handle it. I feel the clutch is more grip and fast responsive than mine(plus he got type R short shifter). The responsive what I mean here is compare to my stock clutch, I need to press the clutch more deeper than this OS giken clutch. But when pressing this OS giken clutch it so Shallow or light buffer. So I ask him why the clutch press so shallow or light buffer than mine. He said since OS Giken design to be shallow, so I took a longer nut bolt on to holding the clutch pedal more deeply. While mine nut is shorter, so there is a lot of gap to press.
Here is the question, what he doing this is it correct? I mean it won't harm to the clutch?( like semi holding it). Thank you
PS:Reason I asking this question, If one day he wanna throw or sell off half price this OS Giken. This precious will be mine

That's ghetto rigging like hell. There's no need to mess with the clutch pedal. As for clutches, most people use ACT, Clutchmasters, etc.... on Hondas.
