Default Header for b20 vtec

What header are people using and proven to give good results on their b20 vtec?

Depending on what your setup consists of u cant go wrong with a big tube tri-y header. but at the same time if u wanna spend 1200 dollars you can get/find a custom header that will yield some more power but it also depends alkot on your setup like i said. Im running the 2 piece Hytech replica big tube header on my b20vtec with 2.5in collector i just dont like that it has very poor ground clearance.

There's plenty of headers out there, and a few header test on here if you search you'll find some good results on good headers to maybe look for.

I personally run a bisi header on my motor and i know a few other guys with "bigger" motors do the same.
Others run SMSP, SSR and other custom headers. Toda and PLM are going to probably be your best bet for cheap headers to make decent power before you have to step into the "custom" ring of headers.

You have "1", not "2".

Search for the PLM SMSP replica header.

That header was already tested..

The "only" replica i would think of buying is the PLM SMSP b19 knock off, its on ebay for like 320 , free shipping.. but i like to support real products.

so its been verified that is a SMSP b19 header? It doesnt look like a hard header to knock-off. How well do you think/Have you seen it perform.

Derek, does the BISI B20 header have good ground clearance, A lot of people seem to say that most good b20 headers have suckey ground clearance? Whats your opinion on that and home much more Hp will a bisi header make over a good flowing knock-off that is half its price!!

from my own experience with recently ordering a custom header for my k20 from stefan at asp, he asked me my setup and intended usage for the car and recommended the best design he had for it.

these guys have built enough headers for enough different setups they know what works.

Prices are acceptable, but the shipping would likely be a little heavy for me. SMSP's one with the custom pan seems a bit extreme but would offer the clearance required on a daily driver.

Other seems to be variants of tri Y, with the exception of hytech's anti reversion chambers.

I've tried searching for header dyno results, but only got mostly replica's. Oh well. 200whp with my current mugen header isn't too shabby.

x 2. Profab is good too and is around the same price as the Alpha. I wonder what the results would be for Alpha vs Profab.
