Here's some teaser shots of the event. I"ll have some more commentary in the next days to come as more pictures come in.
Sunday Elimination day had unexpected weather. I had thought the weather was mostly going to be in the high 70s but it ended up being wet, rainy and drizzling in many parts of Socal. Fortunately it was dry and never rained at the track. The day was cloudy though and it seemed like any minute, the clouds would get darker and started pouring rain. Fontana is also known for its winds so despite the non-wet weather, it got pretty cold and windy at times. (cross winds, you west coast tail wind conspiracy theory believers) LOL.
The morning started out with a few unexpected twists. Some contenders such as Javier Loarca and Fernie Nicolas ended up not being able to get into the outlaw field. Javier's cage was out of date and it wasnt able to pass tech. Fernie ended up having some trouble and it wasnt ready to compete that day. Some last minute gremlins also took out TB, one of the top All motor contenders with his mid 10sec B-series setup.
We also had expected several more racers such as Chris Miller who had his car here in California waiting for a transmission. Unfortunately, he couldnt get the parts ready and was unable to bring the car to the track. The Utah boys with 3 turbo cars each also had some bad luck with damage on the dyno just 1 day before they were to head out to Fontana, so they had to sit this one out. Also planned were Joe Locash and Aaron of Teague Speed Racing. Both had major damage during the previous IFO race 2 weeks earlier.
Despite all the missing racers, we all had a great time. I can honestly say I would do this again in a heartbeat and even after 2 long days, I would come back again for a 3rd day just as pumped up as I was the previous days. My crew did a great job of setting up our area and for Randy in helping run the lanes and getting the racers updated on getting each and everyone ready for the next round.
Here's some pictures of the event.

All Motor Class Winner: LeoG

Turbo Class Winner: Jeremy Bretscneider

Prizes getting setup to be distributed.

Some of the photogenic racers receiving their prizes:
Jake Blackman... no Coors light not part of prizes.

Chris Cook picking up his Evolution gasket, shirts, etc.

John Sauro, All Motor runner Up... needing help from fellow Trevtec racer James Wilder.

Jeremy Bretschneider, Turbo winner... carrying all his prizes and wearing the special WINNER L.A. Outlaw FWD Invasion shirt given to the 1st place winners.

didn't take too many pics, but i'll share what i have:

a look at Saul Salceda's setup while he was waiting in line.

GPR representin' on John Park's bad@$$ boosted DC2. car ran a 9.6 the first day.

Norris Prayoonto in Saul Salceda's pit, with James Lin workin' the Motec

Saul vs Leo.
(congrats to Leo on the 10.7 run after spending all night swapping in the backup motor)

this 'stang ran a 7.95 the 2nd day. my favorite domestic; sounded like a jet on the track.

forgot who's setup this is from SD..but it was pretty clean.

^ I had a blast. Sunday like I said earlier was totally unexpected weather. Man it got cold. I was expecting in the 70s that day, but the wind was blowing like crazy. Monday was intense. To me, I think its because of the 2 day event thing. We dont really get 2 day races so the build up of the competition flows into another day. I was anxious to see who would take out who in those rounds. I'm not saying this just to be biased, but the weekend was so rewarding to me. To be able to give something to my fellow West Coast racers, was cool enough in itself. These are my boys, the people I have grown up with in the scene and worked with in the industry. It was good to see them have fun and enjoy themselves.
I wish I would have seen the night time activities at the track though. I heard it got pretty crazy. LOL.

LOL goodtimes. was there alot camping overnight?
Man we ended up driving to downtown LA to go out to eat out there til midnight. I felt a huge responsibility on my shoulders that night to be ready the next day so I slept by 1. haha. The rest of the guys went to some bar in San Bernardino and ended up laughing at ugly chicks. LOL.

Saul's CRX(Mission Critical Performance/Exospeed) was on its first time on the track. Its never been driven at all on any pass. The reason for not making a full pass on the bye runs is because it was still making sure it shifts correctly and goes down the track safely.
