Default Question about LCA's in an 88?

I was considering gettin rear disk brakes, but I like my 88 LCA's. Can I swap in an Type-R rear LCA + Brake setup?

You will have to do the fronts as well. ITR's are 5 lug and your rear brakes would be the same size as the front . But I believe it will all bolt up. You will also need to upgrade that master cylinder. Your other option would be to find a JDM rear disc set-up and install that. They have the ITR style control arms.

you can put your 88 LCAs on even after you do a rear disc swap.I had my type R rear LCAs on my DA and they fit fine they are exactly like the 88 civic and crx rear LCAs you can put your LCAs on any Civic from 88-95 or 90-00 integra and they will fit you don't have to get a type R brake swap unless that is what you really want you can use a 90-91 si rear disc setup you just have to get shocks for an 88 civic or crx or some type-R rear shocks

Anyone got pictures of this different 88 Suspension. It's independent or something. What does it look like?

the rear LCAs are set up just like the type R's that is the only difference between 88 and the rest

See... the problem is both my rear brakes and LCA's are rusted... so, thats why I was considering the ITR's. What if I did the integra rear conversion, would 88-91 CRX springs still work in the rear?

Also, I have a Suspension Techniques Rear Sway bar for 89-91 CRX. Hmm... this is confusing (atleast for me) how to make everything work.

Now you are confusing me. First you said you like your 88 control arms then you say you have 89-91 sway bar. I would say just get 89-91 lca and shocks and upgrade to rear disc of an Integra or Civic/CRX. Springs will work on any year set-up, The shocks are what are different between years.

You can get new rear brakes from a civic/crx or integra,if your 88 LCAs are rusted and you want to get some that are the same buy some from a Type-R or another 88 otherwise just get 89-91 LCAs then you just need shocks that work with your LCA of choice,I have heard that if you use the Type-R LCAs you can use the type-r sway bars and rear lower strengthening bars

So the suspension techniques rear sway won't fit on an EF that has the 88 LCAs installed?

But if I got Type-R LCA's wouldnt I need to get the 5-lug conversion? Cuzz my rear drum brakes are rusted as well.

you shouldn't, the r style LCAs mount the same to the trailing arm. but you can't use your 89-91 struts w/ r style LCA.
