My daily driver is a '99 accord lx with 2.3l (f23 i guess) and it seems like it has an excessively loud valve tick. To best describe the sound it would be to say it sounds like a motor thats being run low on oil.

In fact I have had a few people say "hey sounds like your car needs some oil", but the motor doesnt burn any oil at all. It has 124k on the motor and i do my own oil changes regularly with 5w30.

Will a valve adjustment help? I also read somewhere about cam journal wear? I am wondering if the ticking is going to develop into a worse problem. Its been doing it since i got the car off of my sister with 100k on it. It runs good, gets 32mpg on the highway and doesnt burn any oil, and the tranny is still shifting fine so I just dont wana end up dropping a valve or something.
