Default FS: NJ: 88 CRX Si, bad trans

Whats up. 1988 Honda CRX Si for sale. Please, no requests for parts off of this car. I may have other parts laying around that could be sold but I'm not parting this out until
I figure out if someone wants to buy the complete car.

I'd like to apologize pre-hand for the fact this for sale ad is all over the place with details. I am capable of answering any question possible for this car and am 100% honest. I've done many deals on H-T. I will tell you exactly what's up with everything, what's hacked up, what's not, what's greasy, leaky, whatever. The car is located in south nj, 08094 to be specific. I currently live in Philly, but can meet up any time after 5pm M-S, and all day/night Sunday so you can check it out, start it, take it apart, whatever.

It's been my daily driver since last year when I put the car together. Purchased the shell
from a guy who moved up from Florida. Installed the stock D16A6 and Si trans from another 88 CRX Si I had purchased last year. Long story short, I slapped it all together and the car is basically stock. This past month, I started hearing weird noises from the trans. Drained the oil which has always been clean and clear and came out solid grey/black with tiny metallic bits in it, nothing chunky. It perplexed me as that transmission had no grinds and always shifted smooth. My guess, differential took a **** because I refilled the trans oil and it immediately started leaking out of the axles. The seals are good there, and the axles had a lot of play in the transmission.

I parked the car, bought a DA and it's now sat for 1 week.

The good:
Inspected in NJ till 12-2012, just in time for the Mayan calendar end of the world!!!

Overall clean body and clean interior. Heater control is mint which is worth a pretty penny itself. Good brakes, 90-91 tailights, and front end. Has a traction bar installed as well as the stock crossmember. Radius rods are included for the traction bar if you want to take off stock crossmember. Drives straight and decent for a 23 year old car. No cracked glass or anything major. Body appears to have never been in a major accident.
Brand new reman. starter as well as new spark plugs, distrib cap, rotor, NGK wires, fuel filter, etc. Clean stock CRX Si interior. Seats are in nice shape, as well as dash, door panels, rear compartment area etc. Rear disc brake conversion. Rear 90-91 aftermarket LCAs with 90-91 stock suspension. moonroof is fully operational.

The bad:
Trans is most likely shot and the engine while only has 89k on it, blows smoke bad. Most likely because the car it came out of sat for a very long time. It runs fine and it's dependable as hell but if you get on it at all, black smoke.

Bit of rust on the driver side rocker, as well as one of the driver side seat mounting holes. (pics)

Crappy, flat black paint job that previous owner did. He also gutted the windshield washer resevoir.

The mileage on the body is unknown, but probably pretty low given it's condition.

I have the 4th Del sol wheel with a flat tire. All of the tires are in ok shape, little bald.

Also, the carpet is not installed as well as the passenger side door panel speaker cover, but I have these parts. Carpet is in good condition.

I'll let the pics speak for themselves, could be a great project for someone who wants to do a swap or replace it with something stock for good gas mileage. Feel free to text me at 856-357-7760 or PM me (name's Dave). I'm just looking for offers now. No lowball offers. I'm not letting this go for 500$. The bare shell cost me that. I have tons of extra parts including the stock rear sway bar, stock rear suspension/lcas, and a lot of other misc. ****. Been in the CRX game for 9 years now, either it's going for a decent price to someone who will clean it up, or I'm gonna rebuild it when I find the time or part it out. No rush to sell this dinosaur. Thanks for looking.
