Default header clearance question

Will there be a clearance issue with the crossmember with a DC 4-1 header on a b16a1 in a 90 hatch with the hasport kit?

Yeah, you are going to have to cut and bang out the crossmember to clear the 4-1 header.

Is it the old or new hasport mount kit? We did this swap on an 88 HF, we slapped in a B20 with the 4-1 DC header and he didn't have to notch the crossmember using the new kit...

He was using the new billet kit and we didn't have to notch it, the header fit with no problems...

Im using the billet style and didnt need to notch the crossmember....the header sits way low to the ground though, im always hitting it. A 4-2-1 header doesnt sit so low.

I just did my install with a DC 4-1, and it was on when I put the engine in it's very tight but it didn't require any modification yet, it is clearly touching the cross member but it still fits in there fine.

you have to do that and also watch how low your car is. I just put in a DC 4:1 a couple months ago and tonight it got OWNED by a bump in the road. my piping is crushed to about 1/4 in now. 3rd header in 2 years. My next car is going to be a truck.
