ok i have a 95 civic with a zc motor in it and yes on the block plate it only has zc but the head numbers come back to a d15. so my question is did somebody but that head on or is there a zc motor that comes with a d15 head on it. it is a sohc non vtec. ive been searching forums about zc motors and all i get is mixed info on them. any good info on this motor would be good.

ZC Motors info

The ZC motors are the import motors, usually from japan. They're similar to your d15/d16 motors in your US cars.

 

ya i looked there similar to d16 but my head code is pm3-8 (9/3) which i keep getting told is a d15 head. im just try in to find out if the head is a zc head or if sombody but that head on a zc block for some reason.

 

I have a ZC block also with a D15 head. Mine isn't vtec tho. You can tell if it's vtec if you have a solenoid or if your plugs on your head are on the bottom instead of the top.(I think)

 

so thay say a zc is like a d15 and d16 so if the head comes up d15 does that mean the bottom end is more like a d15 than a d16
