im planning on doing a legend caliper upgrade on my db7, but i was wondering if it will mess up my stock abs unit in any way?. my car is completely stock just doing it for the bling cuz im planning on polishing them up.also for a everyday driver is it overkill?

I first put NSX calipers in front, similar to Legend, and left the back stock, then later used RSX calipers in back. ABS worked fine all along. That is on a 95 and I believe the ABS is slightly different, but yours should work. There are many threads on NSX and legend conversions, and I do not remember any ABS issues. You could search the conversions.

i searched and read several threads about them, most people dont have abs when they do the conversion, i did find some body that said his tires kind of locked up on him, thats what im scared off, i dont want to be on the freeway and the tires locking up on me.where u stock motor? was it overkill for u for everyday driving?

It is overkill for every day. You started with wanting bling. I use NSX front and RSX rear on the track, with track pads, to help with heat fade. I use ABS and it works fine. I also drive it on the street with street pads. I do not think it is worth the hassle or money for everyday, but for bling, up to you.

dam, i was hoping it wouldnt be that bad with them. maybe i should just polish the ones that i have on now. but i just thought it would look really good with a big caliper all polished up. is it that bad? im wondering if its that hard of a stop.

ABS is a tack-on system on nearly all vehicles, and will normally not affect the base brakes in any way, until it engages. The displacement cams in the modulator are machined to a precise size to displace the correct amount of brake fluid for the application in question. Different size wheel end bores will affect the performance of the system, but will not damage it. If anything, it will simply feel less effective than it used to, and depending on what else you change in the upgrade, can cause your ABS system to engage more frequently. A larger caliper will lock up the same size tire easier as long as the master cylinder can push enough fluid.

The brakes on your car were designed for the everyday driver from the factory, now if your not an "everyday" kind of driver that is another thing altogether.
