High Flow Cat and/or Test Pipe Questions...
First, where are some reputable places to purchase one?
Second, what fits? My stock cat (I'm assuming) has three bolt flanges on both sides. Some of the ones I'm looking to buy online have 3 bolt holes on one side and only 2 on the other.

The cat depends on your exhuast that you plan on bolting up to it. I've seen cheap hi fow cat's on ebay for like $10 bucks that flow just as well as a test pipe you can custom weld... I'd say ebay if your looking for a cat delete ... just me tho
Thanks. I'm looking For something that will bolt right up to what I have now, that's why I was asking about the 3 and 2 bolt flanges. I don't kno what is and what is not stock.
Let's say you don't have or want to use eBay....any other places to look? Brands? Companies? Websites for Prelude stuff?

personally i have a Megan racing 2.5" exhaust header back.. i had a high flow cat welded in where the test pipe would be.. sounds great and runs great.. it also passes emissions which is a double plus
I thought the idea behind flanged exhausts was for making life easier lol... you know, so you can essentially change out your exhaust by yourself in a parking lot vs having to take it to a shop and have them weld it in.
Plus, what happens when it goes bad? You have to get it again re-welded. I had this problem on my Jeep where they do not make exhaust setups that are pieced together with flanges, and that's what I was trying ti get away from. On my WRX, you don't have to weld anything on. Everything bolts up perfectly. Why spend the extra $ for the welding? ESPECIALLY if you go with a test-pipe which NO ONE is going to weld on for you, you know?
So if I had a test pipe that I could just bolt straight up to what I already have existing in place....
Trackin'?

well that depends.. you can get a cat that fits the stock pipe but if you have pipes that are bigger its obvious that a stock cat with stock flanges are not going to fit..
i know people do make high flow cats for stock exhaust pipes.. i seen many while i was searching to find one that would fit my non-stock pipes

I guess I need to get a tape and see exactly what size my piping is now. The PO hackjobbed a lot of stuff on my car so I am not entirely sure what is stock and what isn't. That's why I was asking about the flanges especially. I wasn't sure if our cars came stock with a 3 and 2 bolt flange cat or not.
Thanks for that link Hunter. That's along the ideas of what I was thinking about yes. I might get that. If I can save $60 in the process though and get something like this, I would:

Just not sure if that will bolt up or not. As for throwing any CELs, the idea is that once I get my P72 ECU running correctly on my car, hopefully that will take care of the rear O2 sensor...

The cat pictured above looks like a HI flow cat that a eg civic would use to bolt up to its header and exhuast... I know u can go on ebay and find what u are looking for , for like 30 bucks... they are safe, done well and just a simple bolt up with gaskets lol
Right on guys. I just don't know if our Preludes come stock with a two bolt flange on one end and 3 on the other? Or is it 3 on both sides? Because that's what I have on there now.
So stock they have 3 bolt flanges at each end, correct?
Same with aftermarket?
Maybe the pics I see online are just a little deceiving. I just don't want to spend $200-300 if I don't have to....as far as buying a $100-150 cat plus paying someone to weld it on. I would much rather buy a $50-100 hi-flow cat or test pipe with 3 bolt flanges on each end and install it myself.
