Default 2011 crx build

Hello. I am attempting my first swap on my 89 hf. I will have the pictures of it posted in a few days. I am starting with a body that is in fairly good condition. I have it tore down to the shell and plan on painting it inside and out before I do the motor swap.

I think the motor i am going to put in is a b16a. I am going to order from Hmotors. One of the problems i am having is deciding what motor to get. There is the b16a sir II and the B16a integra xsi. Can anyone give advise on what would be the better choice. The xsi is a little cheaper and says it comes with an obd1. Like i said this is going to be my first swap so i want to keep it kinda simple.

Do lots of research before purchase. Personally, i think you should for for a larger engine.

just do the original b16 SiR. is best.
stays ODB0
easy wiring in comparison.
and overall, a better swap.
not hydro trannies to deal with.

What makes the B16A the best?

The OP could easily buy a B20 engine, then find a 1990-91 Integra for a cable tranny, axels, ecu and distibutor and easily make more power for the same price!

So, how is a B16 better?

b16 has a better tranny, most aggresive.
and in general, its an easier swap to do.
the B20 isn't as reliable as the b16 nor is it legal, at least not in CA.
and piecing together a build is something you should do if you know more about engines.
just saying.
its my opinion.
plus it runs faster, has vtec, and its just overall, a great motor.

The B16 tranny is not better quality, in fact, it is well known for grinding issues....it's just shorter geared.

B20 isn't reliable?? Sorry, but each engine is just as reliable as the next! Nor i, or the OP live in Cali, so, to many people, it really wouldn't matter

I have owned a number of b16's and b20's.....both engines being equal, a B20 is faster any day of the week!

If u wanna keep it simple. Find yourself a smashed up obd0 Integra. And go B18. Such an easy swap, lotsa fun and so many ways to go from there aswell...........B18 FTW

I think Deetz had the best advise for this guy. I think he's obviously posting this question cause he's not well versed in engines and mechanics. I agree that he should just do ALOT of research and reading and simply make the choice for himself. Posting the ? on here will just get you 700 different responses and then arguements between people. All of which becomes confusing and further complicates things for the OP.

yea i know that posting a question on here gets a LOT of arguing but it helps to hear everyones answers and how they back up there answer. Everyone has a different way of doing things but the great thing about this site is i can sample everyones great ideas. I know that a lot of people on this site have been threw many builds and are speaking from there own experiences.
I have been doing a lot of research for the swap i want to do but i am having a hard time finding info on the difference on the integra xsi and the sir II
I want the motor that is going to be the most reliable with some power cause this crx is going to be my daily driver. i also want it to be able to grip to the road well so i can have fun with the curves.

I am installing a b16a xsi. I bought the complete swap from h-motors. I am trying to find some information about what fuel pump i will need and if i will need to change the regulator?

First thing to try is.......making your own thread instead of hijacking someone else's.

Aside from the fact that the previous owner painted over the original blue color with black primer, there are dents all over that i will have to fix. The body only has rust by the gas fill cap and on the other rear corner panel. Other than that the body is rust free which shocked me cause i live in indiana. I am also thinking about removing the sun roof.
Thanks for telling me how to post pictures!!!

so this is the rest of the pictures i have so far. I got the oem headlights and tail lights finally. I am still shopping for a set of corner marker lights. I never knew it was so hard to find stock lights! The engine is coming in sometime in the next two weeks so hopefully i will have the bay painted by then.

If you have a true HF you will need to change out the knuckles as well.

They are smaller diameter hubs and will not fit b series axles.
