I am going be painting my Civic soon, but how much paint do I use and what techniques do you guys use when painting/preping to make the job smoother and better? Any tricks or tips?

I'm going to sand down the old faded factory paint, but not to the metal, just enough to get it uniform and even. Then I'll spray the primer, then spray the base coat, 2nd base coat and maybe a 3rd base coat and then clear.

How does that sound? Am I missing anything? I'm going to paint it championship white if it matters.

I think youll be fine with 2 gallons...and ps it will look like this when done

2 gallons?? i work at an automotive parts store, im pretty much the main paint mixer, and most people usually just use a gallon

 

If your using a single stage paint then you wont need to clear coat, but if not then clear is needed. When sanding remember that primer will not fill anything smaller than 180g, your gonna wanna work your way up to at least 400, 400 or higher sand is ready to be painted.

Nice paint! What did you use, paint without clear or paint and then clear? I called the paint shop and they said 3 pints and need some activator. I think it was 1:1 1/2 paint to activator/reducer.

Any paint recomendations? And how much should I look to paying for primer/paint/activator/clear total? How much did you pay and what did you get.
