Low Mile Engine and Transmission Swap
My 95' Accords (LX 2.2L) engine finely gave up the ghost. I'm the second owner and have a Tech that is willing to help me do the swap. I talked to a shop and asked about doing both the engine and transmission at the same time. The Transmission has 305,XXX and has never been serviced so I was surprised to hear him say don't use a low mile import just rebuild the one I have now.
Has anyone had experience good or bad doing both an engine/transmission swap or put in a low mile transmission? His comment has me perplexed on whether my original plan is a good idea. This comment came from a local Japanese import special chain with a very good rep.

Not sure why they would say that, other than possibly the supply chain has been hindered due to the Tsunami. With that said, installed a low mileage AT into the '95 EX. Seems to be working fine.
