drivetrain and transmission solutions for 550+whp S2K's
It is obvious the drivetrain and transmission must be upgraded after generally passing 550whp give or take...
So for all the big power S2K's (550whp++++ and on) that are still STREET driven:
What are you guys running for a transmission?
Is there anyone running PPG Synchro Gears right now?
Has anyone actually done SWAP with the 5 or 6 gear supra trannys or others?
What other solutions are out there?

How about the diff and other components? who is running one of Ben's setups and/or who is running inline pros diff kit?
How are they holding up?
What is working for you?

Work your way up from the differential, the transmission is much stronger than the differential, but depending on your power goals you may want to do both.
There's the InlinePRO kit with the R200 differential which leaves you with many options since the R200 is relatively well supported from the different cars that the diff goes onto. Then there's the Full Blown 8.8 kit which is available too, and of course if you're going all-out drag, welding in a 9" ford will do.
For the transmission, I recall there being 3-4 owners on here/S2ki that had the PPG straight-cut gears including the 7.6x RedStar car, the 9.X silverstone with the J's front bumper, and a handful of others.
For the tramission swap I believe that AFI has developed a kit to bolt-on a ford transmission but it isn't in production yet.
I would say that with a PPG box, and ILP/FBlown rear-end kit you retain the same drivability as with the rest of the sub-500 boosted s2k's while still able to support big power. I know that Silverstone car running 9.X with the J's bumper was still streetdriving his car. I'll update with a review when I find time to mount my R200 (without boost for now

I don't think of the PPG as something I'd want to street. An AP2 trans will usually hold up to 550 to the wheels for a while. If you do the work yourself, you can just swap them out, since they aren't that expensive. Alternatively you can get it cryo treated.
For the diff, there's a guy doing cryo treatment relatively inexpensively that I would prefer to the r200 setup.

So i ended up going with puddymods stage 4 built differential... I should be picking it up in a week or two so we'll see how it feels. I also picked up a pair of gator axles
All thats left will be the transmission, and thats the tough part
