Icon6 Bad vibrations coming from front suspension

I am having an issue with my 2002 civic. I have no noise to indicate a bad wheel bearing. I have play in certain spots on the driverside front wheel. Rotor is moving as well. When driving if i go over 80km\h the steering wheel shakes like crazy. I just had my tires rebalanced. All rims are tight. The play in the tire is not alot but just a little and if i rotate the wheel it gets less and less. Then it gets back to the bad spot. So is it my wheel Bearing or something else wrong with it. The shaking steering wheel over 80 is throwing me off and the fact there is no noise that i can notice. I know the bad bearing noise from my 89 civic it had a bad rear bearing. But there is no noise. Any comments would be appreciated Thanks Chris

Have you checked the compliance bushings or the tie rod ends?

Id still say its the bearing. Some of them shake and never make any noise at all. Get it replaced and see if it goes away

Bearing or axle would be my guess. Bearings are a lot less expensive, I'd start there.

On a side note: How long have you had the car? Did you ever get into an accident? Have you ever checked the rotors to see if they're warped?

I bought the car used. and yes it was in an accident and was hit on the driverside because it has an aftermarket fender and the headlight looks new. I found out problem it was one of the tires was a little bit bigger then the rest and it was causing the shake BUT..... I have a loud clunking coming from the driverside front wheel when going over bumps. Louder when at low speeds but hardly hear it going fast. Everything seems tight on that side of the car. Makes the noise when jacking up car but wont make it when car is up in the air any ideas? Thanks Chris

Have you checked the bushings in the lower control arm? What about the ball joint? Sway bar bushings?

Got the problems fixed. It was bad bushing and lower control arm bushing. I put in a full set of energy suspension bushing and the trailing arm ones too. Then my car got jacked and stripped. A total lost...

Sorry your car was stolen, but thanks for bumping the thread with an update about what you found and how you fixed it.
