AEM CAI vs. Stock ITR air box???
Sup,
A friend recently told me that his ITR's low end power was a lot better with the stock ITR air box vs. his AEM CAI. He said the back pressure made for more low end power that the AEM CAI didn't have. I'm about to trade my stock air box and tubing for a Stillen FPR and JDM Shift boot, which I consider a decent trade, but it got me thinkin'.
So I would think that the AEM CAI would make for better high end power vs. the stock ITR air box right? I am going for mostly high end power, it's priority to me vs. low end power, but I just wanted to get your input on it first. As long as the AEM CAI will give me more high end power than the stock air box, I'll gladly trade the air box and get rid of it. Please let me know if you have any advice in this area. Thanks.

w/ the AEM, you have quicker throttle response, and it lets this high compression/ high revving motor breathe..... mine made more power @ about 4200 to 8500..... In a ITR, that is the power band. If he is running the stock 4-2-1 header, the losses will be small.....

It might make a 1-2 peak hp more in the high rpm range, but I believe that the only thing the AEM is good for is making noise and sucking up water.
