So my accord has been acting up and has taken a second longer to actually start. 2 weeks ago it wouldnt start, it started up to 500rpms and even with the pedal floored it just died. Took me about 15mins to actually get it going.. Then it fired up fine.. Today I just had to abandon it because the pos wont start at all. Battery, alternator, starter are fine, has gas obviously... what else could this be? would disconnecting the battery help?

It cranks but wont start, or it does start but then dies.. My first though is spark or fuel. I just did the plugs, wires, dis.. but I noticed when turning the key im not hearing the fuel pump or the tick.. Last time i punch the dashboard hella hard and it started lol..

Did a google search and found this:

"Your main relay is probably to blame. Sorry my windows is broken so I

Smacking the dash even helps if you don't hear the fuel pump cycle while

you've never done that one)."

 

Ok, can you try the simple test of spraying carb cleaner in and see if it starts? Also, does the CEL come on for a few sec and then go off.....does "sound" like the main relay.

 

its your main relay...i have one for sale. it only happens in the heat right?
