Default MOD5 Engineering Street/Track integra RS "Race Series" restoration

We at MOD5 Engineering would like to introduce our self to the community as a product line for quality parts, functionality parts, and with OEM minded standards. Modify parts that are needed on a car but do not take away from the design of what Honda has created. We wanted to build a nice street/track car to R&D our product line but just enough modification to still keep comfort ability for street driving.

So we started out looking for a Flamenco Black Pearl or Nighthawk Black Pearl Integra Type R. It’s the perfect chassis to work with since the car comes with everything we want on a street/track car BUT the best part is, its factory modified.

Then the Itch for the Kseries changed our whole idea and we ended up sourcing a nice clean 98 Milano Red Integra RS. Only b/c it’s the closest thing to a ITR platform and we won’t mind cutting into. Plus paint and body on this thing is in good condition. She’s a California car and has been in the Inland Empire her whole time.

Here is a pic of the bay got to find a full body shot picture.

the car is Alrdy at the body shop so in this build thread im going to have to catch up to where its at current

Shortly after getting the car we went to town immediately on taking out everything we don’t need from the RS and replacing them with ITR components from motor, suspension, interior, and exterior.

Pulled the old b18b motor (for sale) and cleaned the engine bay. It was dirty but a couple cans of degreaser and a pressure washer…..

De drilled the spot welds and kept the mount in tact so if we ever want to go back to Bseries we can always re weld the mount back on.

We painted the mount to match bay so it looks factory

Was able to source a good candidate for the power plant …….. K20R.

Dropped the K20R into its new home

Got in some KTuned products. All tho we will be using our MOD5 fuel filter set up.

Koyo radiator

Our MOD5 Clutch Line Kit (coming soon) this one is a mock up and tester of the one being release.

We opted to go with the Hybrid Racing Shifter b/c we will only have to drill several holes and AGAIN if we want to go back to FACTORY we can.

Several months back my buddy sent his harness to get made by Adam West “Westspec” (R.I.P) but never got around to use. So we paid to have it.

We wired everything to make sure all works before cleaning up the harness.

Everything installed and ready to be tested. She came alive after several cranks.

After sourcing a set of clean 98 US ITR Championship White front bumper cover w/lip, rear bumper cover from my buddy, and wing from HMO…..ready for a resrpay

It was time for a BODY SHOP to do a fresh coat of Milano red. That’s where Prestige comes to play.

Everyone saw the civic HB Eric was building and the attention to detail it had. Reason we choose PRESTIGE. Hands down the best work we have seen in the Honda community.

After seeing the paint quality and body work in person we decided not to do a re spray of Milano red but now a full restoration on our integ to Berlina black. But before we can dropped off our integ to prestige, We decided to do tear down.

Started with the interior.

My son Jr doing the seat belts and rear seat bar

Pulled dash, under dash mat, ac components

Pulled out the cabin wire harness, hondata kpro, WestSpec cabin to engine harness

^^ pm'd

Now this was the fun part… the sound deadener and the RS has a lot. Saved all in a bag for weighing at end.

Dry ice…..handle with care!!!
