Hey so i've been trying to help out one of my buddies with his stock 03 civic. He threw a cel for crankshaft position sensor. We replaced it with a brand new one from auto zone. Old was was broken and had some oil on it. So after we had the sensor in and everything back together we tried to start it and it just dies right away no check engine light. I decided to unplug the sensor and then start it and it started right up.. cel of course. The car doesn't sound like its running too good it may be knocking. Anyone have any ideas on what i should look into next? THANKS!!!

Which code was it? P0335, P0336, or P0339?

Have you reset the ECU?

All the connections are tight and corrosion free?

Was the car running before you removed the old sensor?

Tried exchanging the new sensor with the old one, to see if the car will run with the old one?
