Default DVD Sound help

Ok i have a seperate in dash DVD TRC mobile player, its not a flip out screen, just the player.

I also have 4" Screen that is wired to the DVD player.

sound is channeled through my stock head unit via an FM Modulator. however this method sucks and im not pleased with the sound quality of the FM modulator.

im wondering, if i was to get an aftermarket head unit, does it already have the hook ups so i can just plug my DVD player right into my head unit rather then using the FM modulator

Cliffs notes; How can i get decent sound out of my DVD player other then an FM Modulator?

Get a headunit with an AUX input. JVC Kameleon, Some SONY, and others have them. That will be the clearest sound you will get. Big improvement over an FM modulator. Also if you buy a cheap FM modulator expect to get a crappy sound. From my personal experience Audiovox FM modulators are one of the best also XOVISION isn't too bad neither. And to answer you first question, switching to a headunit with definitely make the sound better esp. ones with a better antenna. Good luck........one.

hmmm...does the radio have cd changer controls that you are not using...that may be a way to feed an audio signal into the stock deck....or if you are thinking of swaping decks...definately get a deck with an aux input...kenwood,alpine,eclipse and panasonic have them on some of their models as standard...others you need an adaptor...you will enjoy the switch ( i say kenwood..you can reme the aux input as dvd...its so cool...peeps think you have a kenwwod dvd player)

wow awesome reponses guys!

Do most new headunits have AUX imputs? or only the select few that you named? i dont think my stock deck has the audio signal, its just the POS Civic CD player.

audioroach, got a Model # on that kenwood? id like to look at it!

thanks guys! as for the modulator, im not sure, but it only cost my like $50, so im sure its not top of the line.....
