ok, so im new to building all motor, i have a b16a2 head and i just got some toda spec c's, ive done alot alot of lookin around but havnt really found what im lookin for as far as answers so maybe someone can help, im wantin to go all motor either b18 or b20 bottom end 12:5 maybe 13:1 compression depending on wich block i use, (i have the b18 and can get the b20), but my issue is everyone seems to just try most valvetrain with toda cams there seems to be nuthing thats common, i would for sure like to use toda springs but havnt found much on what valves retainers seats and guides to use, head will be getting a port and polish job and portflow tested also but i wanted to have the valvetrain ready for the people doing it. its not going to be a daily driver more of a drive to shows or a lil auto x but maybe tke it out on a weekend or so every month or 2. any input is appreciated thanks!

 

ok got info back from toda japan today,
when running any toda cam toda valve springs and cam gears should be used
if not toda springs a spring that has no more than 13mm lift and no less than 12.5 although theirs are designed to handle the cams better due to shape and pressure rateing.
also bronze guides are a good idea but not a must
stock valves can be used but any upgrade would be a much better idea no specific there
stock steel retiners are fine, upgrade to titanium if money is not a issue is best
valve seals can be stock or any upgrade.
