DC2 98 spec Type R swap Help
So my buddy swapped a 98 spec type R into his integra and is having some issues and is looking for some incite. He claims he cant access the ecu because it is jdm. The first issue is it is idling at about 1500rpm, is this normal? Second issue and more concerning to him is that it doesnt seem to be engaging into vtec... is the type r crossover just not as pronounced as others? Vtec solonoid? Faulty wiring? If anyone has any suggestions or knowledge about this it would be greatly appreciated.
is the engine COLD?
1500rpms is normal on startup and vtec doesn't work until the engine is warm
the idle should drop to around 750 when the car is warm, then you set ignition timing with the jumper jumped and will be ready to drive.
don't rail on the car before you set ignition timing!
