Default Compression Ratio

Hello, honda fans!!!

I am building a usual project, a K20 head with skunk 1st stage camshafts, with K24 block, wisceco pistons and eagle rods.

How much is the maximum CR i could work without problem?

I am thinking for 12.5:1

I am waiting for your thoughts!!!!

Thanks,

Alex

Im not real up on k motors . Dont always thik that more compression means more hp thats not alwasy true. It has been proven over and over again that on pump gas to much compression can hrut your hp. My tunner has always said he could tune out 13.1 on pump gas but your motor will make more power with less compression . I would say between 12.1-12.5 would be a nice pump gas build but it has alot to do with your cams. At 12.5 compression my cranking pressure was so high on stage two cams that changing a timing belt made me lose 20hp . Went to pro2 cams (which are bigger cams and bleed off cranking pressure) and got all my power back. Its not that people cant make hp on high compresson pump gas set ups its that evrything is so crtical. Id stay bellow 12.5 and you will have a realy nice motor with alot less headaches.

thank you mate, i think i will stay at 12.3:1 !! After all the skunk 2 1st stage camshafts that i installed are not so "wild".

11.5:1 would be even better remember displacment makes up the diffrence no need to run real high compression on a 2.4 liter motor if it was say a 1.6 liter motor then yea higher compression would help but to be honest with a stage 1 cam you could run 10.5:1 compression and still make real nice power and wouldnt have to worry about damaging your motor from detonation. for pump gas 11.5:1 is my personal max for compression and im sure a lot of tuners would agree
