CRX TRANNY SWAP
I have a 91 crx with a d16z6 and the transmission leaks so i bought an Si cable trans to put into it; What all tools are needed to swap them and is there a deep process to doing this or can common sense just be used??
I would be picking up a OEM helms manual for the job, so you have torque specs and removal and re-installation procedures to read through, if you have never done it before. Incidentally, I have a 91 civic helms for sale in my for sale thread, which has all that.
If you have done other clutch changes, then you might be ok, but if this is your first one, i would strongly recommend picking up a good manual on the topic first.

@sanimalp: not trying to rain on your parade, but how could you honestly attempt to charge people for manuals when you can download them free on hondahookup?
To the OP, a manual will be your friend if you have never done anything like this. Read it through and take your time. Dont let a job of this nature scare you away from doing it. Jump in and follow the procedures. Good luck with the swap!

But seriously.. my boring old book has sections 17-1 through 23-234 that your free PDF doesn't have. It also has about 30 front/back pages of 3 page fold out wiring diagrams for DX, SI and STD model civics. We can also talk about the stuff it doesn't have, like vtec wiring diagrams and glass roof installation/removal procedures that are likely irrelevant to you. buying the real deal will give you the exact information for your exact car. no better peace of mind than that..
many people may be able to get by with their PDF copies, but the real deal is much better than the PDF copy. Just remember this.. you get what you pay for. I learned that long ago.
Its not too hard. The only special tools you will need is a 32mm socket remove the axle nuts, sometimes a ball joint seperator comes in handy and a strong friend to get the tranny in and out. Its not a job i recommend for beginners who havent at least seen it done once. You really should change the clutch kit when you are in there.
