I'm somewhat new to the biking world. I have been riding a while, but I don't know the terminology too well, or the "customs."
Is there a similar debate between street bikers vs. sportbike riders like there is between imports and domestics?
Just riding around, I've seen that most (if not all) sportbike riders will wave at me or give some sort of acknowledgement, where as only 1 in 10 street bikes (Harley types) will. Just the same, if I'm driving and see two street bikers pass each other, I always see them nod, or wave or something.

it get the same to. All sportbike riders wave here. Ocassionaly a harley guy waves but 9 times outta 10 they dont. If i see a harley rider comin towards me i wait for him to wave before i do
we call the streetbikers the 'cruisers' around here...
about 1/2 of the cruiser guys (yuppie wannabe a badass for the weekend showin the tatoos that are hidden under the dress shirt sleeves) will wave. the rest are too busy getting an *** massage from their paintshaker narrow v-twin chrome slathered Japanese-carbed oil dripping belt driven tube tired replica of a replica of a replica piece of antiquated technology.
almost all of the sportbikers wave, except the ones hanging on for dear life.

Ya, sportbikes riders around here are all cool. My friend I and went riding today, and ran into a guy w/ an 02 R6. We all rode for a little, talked a bit. As he said, I usually wait for the Harley guys to wave to me 1st. We passed 4 today, not 1 single wave
Cmon guys, no hate. As long as they scrape pegs they're brothers and believe it or not some of them do. Think of it this way, if you're in a ditch in 5 pieces and bleeding would a cruiser give you a hand? If you saw a guy in a leather vest on the lieing on the shoulder would you stop? Get your enemies straight, hate the clueless soccer moms in suvs and their crazy racerboy husbands in the minivans. Fooking nascar making them thinking their taurus and grand prix sedans are race cars.
