In my 2000 TL the alarm has been activating itself randomly for the last few days. I can turn it off with the remote, however, it will go off after a random time (sometimes 15 min, other times a few hrs) It has gotten to the point that it is ambarassing to leave the car unattended.
I will greatly appreciate any info how to disable it until it is fixed.
Any idea what could be causing it?

Do you have a sensitivity setting on it? That's where I would start.

 

I appreciate your input, but it doesn't look like it has much to do with the sensitivity level.
Before, when arming the alarm, car's lights would blink, as I visual confirmation.
Now it doesn't happen, which tells me it is something else internal to the alarm system, as opposed to an evironmental trigger that makes it go off due to high sensitivity.
By the way, can sensitivity be easily adjusted on that car?

Is the alarm aftermarket or OEM/Stock?

 

I'm not sure. I just thought that may be an issue. I doubt it can by the regular user for a stock alarm system.
