EM2 K Swap Auto?
Hey HT people, it may have been answered or asked before but i goggled and done enough research and never seen a direct answer.
ok i want to know can i just buy a k swap with an auto tranny auto ecu ext ext and just have an auto em2? I know manual is better but i live in the city and always in traffic and really this is my daily driver, so i just want a newer motor with less miles.
So what would i need, do i still need to change out the sub frame if its still going to be auto?
things of this nature i would like to know thanks!

not only that you'll also need the TCU (Transmission Control Unit) and all the sensors that make the transmission function.
its always better/easier to swap 5 speeds. transferring a newer automatic system in a totally different chassis would be a mission.

K-swap mounts are designed to work with a manual transmission, so those would need to be custom made.
A K-swap costs $6000 easily, nevermind dealing with an auto-trans, just sell your em2 and buy a newer car if you want a lower mile daily driver.

A K-swap can be done for cheaper, if you know how to shop and aren't needing the swap done immediately. I've seen get swaps done for the $4,000 range.
Oh I agree, a K-swap can be done for $4000-5000 now that parts are starting to get older and coming down in price. The vast majority of people are in the $6000 range though, especially if you want a low mileage engine and aren't comfortable doing the work yourself.
Yeah, I know of a k24 shortblock for sale right now for 300 and than a head from a k20 for 100 and than a 5 speed trans for 200. I think you can save most of your money if you shop around for the motor itself. A lot of the other pieces, you can not go cheap on. They are bang for your buck type pieces.

If you want a new motor and you want to stay auto why don't you just pick up a new d17 with lower miles then it's a direct swap $500 way cheaper then buying a k? Maybe I miss understood but It doesn't sound like your wanting power just a new motor.
