Feel the need to rant
Im sorry but i need to b!tch to someone lol.
Im looking at a new car and have being TRYING to get my hands on a DC2R for quite a while (+12 months), but almost given up finding a decent/well treated one that hasnt been riced up. My other choice is a ... wait for it....an S15....(yes a Nissan i know, how could I?!) I hope a decent DC2R comes up soon as i have been with Honda for the last 6 years and would really love to stay with them, but the RWD Turbo is appealing because of its fun factor and availability.
So its really a matter of going for second best.
Again sorry for my rant or if this is in the wrong section but i felt i needed to tell someone.

2 very different feeling cars, Type R is... well lets face it a Type R. awesome handling great motor(when they don't blow up) and they look sweet stock, S15 on the other hand is rear wheel with boost, hard to argue with that. good luck on your choice
Yea i know, i owned a DC2R about a year ago and test drove an S15 at the same time as i was in this same predicament....guess i shouldnt have sold the DC2R then lol
takes some people 2-3 years to find the R that they want... it's a process.
You can't expect a limited production vehicle that's 10+ years old to just be super easy to find.
Good luck with the S15 - maybe at some point you can own both

how about you find a clean titled, clean body, lowest miles, riced out R and save it from the rice? its a win-win-win.
you get an R again > you get to fix it the way YOU want it to be (and do a build thread for our enjoyment lol) > then there will be another R saved from rice.

I have a 96 CW ITR - real & registered - it is for sale on the forums but I need to make a new thread - pm me if you are interested and have $$$.
Guessing you're from Australia or NZ going by the B18C2 part and using KW? Just be glad you're in a country where S15s are readily and legally available. For modifying the S15 is far superior than any Silvia that came before it. It's a good base and while it's slower than a DC2R stock around a track, a mild boost up and some coilovers easily makes it faster.
Guys in the states have to bring USDM S14s over to Japan, take the vins off them and stick them onto S15s and then import the S15 back. Even then they need contacts to register the car and run the risk of losing it at any time if a clued up cop notices.
