I have a 89 civic with a b20b, ls Transmission. My speedo cable is broke. I ordered a new cable for a 89 civic si, This is correct right? Also what are the steps in putting the new cable in? do I have to pull out the cluster? Thanks guys

 

yes you order the right cable. its fairly easy to remove the old one and install a new one...bascailly going from the tranny into the firewall/bulkhead and straight into the cluster.

1. i would remove it from the vss/tranny first.

2. remove the bezel, then unscrew the cluster, unplug it, and pinch and pull the cable out of cluster

3. there should be a 10mm bolt securing the cable. remove that and then you should be able to slide the cable right out.

4. same way out. installing gonna be the same way in.

when you say a 10mm bolt holding the cable where are you talking about?

 

its just a lil bracket that keeps the cable in place..so it doesnt move around
