Where did u order your oxygen sensors?
Looks like I may need a new oxygen sensor on my 1999 Civic VP.
"Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)"
I know OEM is the way to go. Where's the cheapest place to order?

you can get the NGK (aka NTK) oxygen sensors from amazon.com for cheaper than anywhere I've seen. and it's free shipping, usually. just go on ngk.com and get the correct part number.
fyi, you don't HAVE to go NTK. Bosch makes great O2 sensors as well.

X2 except I get the denso ones. They pretty much are identical to the NGK's. Very quality and usually a bit cheaper than NGK. Here's a link to your O2

Hey Sean I just checked that one u posted. On the drop down list for a DX trim & it says "does not fit your vehicle"??? Did you purchase this exact one for your car?

That's the one on the NGK website for a 99 Civic VP and DX for the pre-cat sensor. The post-cat sensor is the same on an automatic DX, but different on a manual trans. Check for yourself on NGK.com.
the car has gotten a tuneup, maybe time for one at the end of the summer
new plugs, ngk wires, purolator filter, purolator fuel filter (it needs changing about now though and is due for an oil change now

i do have to adjust the valve lash cause i havent checked it yet, i checked the pcv valve and it still has the rattle (pretty sure someones gonna disprove me for that), vacuum hoses havent been replace, but any vacuum leaks would typically cause a weird idle right?
and i do have sort of a sticky pedal, i cleaned the iacv before but not the TB thoroughly enough
and where are the grounds located? i only know of the thermostat ground, valve cover ground, transmission ground

Streetfighter50, you got a code P0420 right? You need to check out diagnosis for catalytic converters. The O2 sensors on 96 and newer usually set their own problem codes, and they seem to last longer than the OBD0. I don't replace one unless it has set a code for the oxygen sensors. Catalyst efficiency is referring to the catalytic converter. You might just try resetting it first before digging into a possible converter issue.
For my 2000 civic, The NTK Primary O2 sensor i ordered from www.sparkplugs.com only lasted 5000 miles before it died.
Then I bought a bosch from autozone and it's been fine so far 7000 mi and counting.
I'm not convinced NTK is the way to go. Maybe i got a dud.

^Just to add on a little to what he said. My friend bought a Bosch, and the car continued to run like *** and throw a CEL for the primary O2. He exchanged it, and it continued. Before we went back, we decided to pull mine( car wasn't being driven, didn't and didn't need it.) When we did that, the car ran fine.
If OEM says NGK/NTK that's what you should use.
Definitely don't buy it from Honda, you'll get rapped.

I am giving you a data point that the Bosch is running fine and my mileage is at 32MPG on the highway. I tried the NTK sensor and it failed on me, so take it for what it's worth.
I am not posting what my friends experienced.
And I'm one who usually always buys Honda parts.
