I have a friend with a 2000 TL who's stock alarm intermitently goes off. We've tried unplugging the battery and resetting the system but no luck. There's really no pattern to it going off by itself so I'm thinking maybe a faulty sensor or is it possible to adjust the sensitivty? Could something like that even cause the alarm to go off seemingly at random?

Can anyone link me to a service manual that would list the sensors we could check and or how to adjust sensitivity?

 

unplug the hood switch and connect a jumper wire to it. this will disable the alarm
