I just purchaced a 94 accod ex auto with a 2.2 vetec. It will shift crisp in all gears except going into 4th? not sure what i should be looking for? also my d4 light is out so i do not know if it is blinking or not. if someone could help that would be great. it will shift if you let out of the trottle. but if you dont it will stay inbetween gears untill you let out of the throttle. please help

 

Also i unpluged the silinoid on top of the tranny and i did nothing to how it shifted, and i dident know what that one did either. And then i unpluged the one on the bottom and it then made the tranny shift realy bad and dident want to move. not sure if that will help anyone. Thanks

 

If the light is out, or was removed, you cannot check for TCU codes. Fix the light and check for codes.

The light can be replaced? i thought it was a led. i will try that tho. also does anyone know what silinoid does what? i cant find anything that tells me what either one does. thanks.

 

Should be able to replace the light. It may be LED but that does not mean its a circuit board. If you cannot find the correct lamp, use the D2 gear lamp to replace the busted D4 lamp.
Can't recall exactly which one does what. It's also a combination of which solenoids are on and off that controls the activation of a gear. IIRC the upper pair are for 3rd/4th/lockup. And the lower two are for 1st/2nd/Reverse. But they work together to achieve a given gear selection.
