ok this is the second ecu i bought wit no success 97 2.2 ex auto i jumped the service check connector and got 7 short flashes.Ive searched with too many results but they all come from different yrs my tcu is integrated with the ecu unlike earlier models well 1st gear is fine then it bogs down in second wont go past 40 mph i need to know what the code 7 means on 97 not 96,95,94 a guy told me that my car will only take a 97 ecu no other yrs the mechanic told me he tested the shift solienoids but he could damn well be lying i paid him 1400 to put a used tranny that he had in and now the car dosent run he told me it was the comp well 130 dollars later i guess it aint
