What fluid in your Kaaz LSD?
I found an old thread where people were using a couple different things )https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=207417).
The LSD currently has the Kaaz oil, but it does click on turns. Tell me what you're using and why, and what it has done for you. I was currently planning on sticking with Kaaz oil unless someone has a better idea. It was broken in properly.
Thanks in advance

i'm sure it is the same as my ATS lsd, so it should be 80/90 gear lube. i use genuine ATS gear lube because my tranny isn't gonna be the one to use for the "other" oil experiment....
i have been running Lakewoods LSD fluid for clutch style diffs with Fords friction modifier...
we also run Redline once in a while
I kinda like the clicking the diff makes

I used to use just kaaz oil only, but it got too expensive. Any gear oil that has the same standards as the kaaz will be fine. I think the rating is like gl-5 or something. Just get the weight you like. Also, if you want to quiet down the noise from the lsd, then you add a bottle of Ford friction modifier or something similar. This really helps to quiet down the chatter. I have been running running non- kaaz oil for over a year, and it seems the same as when I had kaaz oil in it.

So, by adding too much 'friction' modifier, you may make the clutches slip too much and not allow them to do thier job (ie one wheel peel).
Get used to the clicking, that is how a clutch pack LSD is. I had a Kaaz but changed to a Quaife...boy, I miss my kaaz.

Oil like Redline or stock won't eliminate the sound. Mechanical LSD requires to run thick oil. KAAZ or ATS does clicks quite a bit. So far what I have tried and used without any problems is MOTUL and ENDLESS. Endless is quite expensive so Motul is suggested at this point.
Well if the click isn't a bad thing then I guess I don't care too much, if the friction modifier stuff actually hurts the perfomrance of the LSD then forget it.

If you put 80-90 In your honda trans you going to ruin bearings
I've been running Honda mtf with the Ford friction modifier for over a year with no problems.
From evperience. I worked at honda dealers for 4 years and have replaced bearings on a dozen or so honda manual trannies. Guess what at least 10 of them were full of gear oil. I don't come here to guess
How many trannies to you rebuild a week? I average about 2.

Trever.. I have been using 80w-90 for 8 years in Honda trannies w/o ANY problems so your theory is a little out of wack. Motor oil or Honda MTL with a clutch LSD is a disasterous combo. Clutch LSD's require a high viscosity fluid because plate life while will shorten if low viscosity fluids are used. The key using gear oil is regular fluid changes!!
I know lots of people with 200k plus miles on there cars with the original timing belts, and they haven't broke yet. It still doesn't make it smart to do. Take my experiences how you want. I just don't like people saying I'm wrong, because they have been lucky so far. I'm trying to help people here.
Ok... all of the guys over here that I know use 80w-90 and haven't had any problems. There's about 40 of us!! Is that enough people for you?
