7 BOLT DSM AUTO TENSIONER Q
Hey guys. I've been building up my 2nd gen 4g63 piece by piece. It's to the point where I'm ready to put it all together but I'm debating the tensioner issue. Wether to go with an oem replacement or not. I've been shopping around and I've seen a couple oe aftermarket replacement tensioners for a good price. The cheapest OEM tensioner I've found is around 76 but after paying shipping and stuff i end up paying the same amount as a 100something replacement I can buy at my local dealer. I know the issue with the Oem replacements people have are that they give out at high RPM. I don't plan on pushing my ride hard or even boosting past stock,so my question is Does anyone suggest wether I buy an OEM replacement or know of a company that makes OEM aftermarket replacement quality tensioners? And if you suggest just going OEM and have bought one in southern cal, what are the prices you paid? Most dealers I call give me the run around on looking up prices cus the guys who work are dicks and don't wanna bother looking up my piece and price. Any little help. Thanks guys.
Whenever I rebuild evo/dsm i use OEM Tensioners because they will last the longest and are the highest quality. But I am not in cali so my prices may be different
Damn. I was hoping not to hear that, but at the same time it's reassuring to hear that the factory oem tensioner will hold up. If I may ask, what do you pay for ur tensioners? If shipping plus cost is less buying out of state than domestically I might just do that. Everything I've been looking up cost alot more shipped, but then again that is from aftermarket places looking for profit on top of msrp
