Maybe it is only in my area but the KBB value of my car (for trade in and private party) went up by about $1000. I remember it dropped down to an embarrassing low number but then I just checked and it seems it spiked. I have followed Hondas for a long time but never spent any time looking at values cause I owned an EF. ha ha. Is this a normal trend for our cars?

I imagine that since the EP3 is the lightest car (I think by maybe only a few lbs over the RSX?) that will ever get a K series from the factory that puts some "want" in people's eyes (even though K swaps in everything else aren't uncommon) but also this is the only US made hatch from Honda in a long time (and it looks like it will continue that way for a while). I could imagine people are getting bored of the EG and EKs and those cars are getting old and worn out.

I am asking about this because I feel like I should almost just sell my EP while the value is up and start looking into other options to help reduce my total loss. I don't particularly love the EP enough that I would never want to sell it and I have always wanted an S2K.

Any insight on this stuff would be great!

The value of an ep is more to a person into ep vs the average Joe.
Keep it if you like it. Eps take a special owner.

 

Have fun going from a car that can store just about anything in the hatch to a 2-seater with virtually no trunk space.

 

The EP3 was not made in the USA. It was made in England.

 

I did notice the increased value as well. Good for us!!!

And, YES EP's are assembled in UK.

 

What I meant was "hatch made for the US market".

And as for the comment about not being able to store stuff.... That is why my girlfriend has a Jeep Cherokee.

I did notice it has gone up a few bucks, but it could be worth 20k for all I care Its gonna stay in my garage.

 

i got a letter from the local honda dealer saying that eps are in high demand and they would pay me 115% of kbb value if i traded or sold hem my car lmao..even though it was hella tempting i ended up keeping my ep..i love the car too much..even with its weak powerplant lol..although i have been feening for a lot more power lately..guess i have to save up for a swap lol

 

Pretty sure values go up slightly in the summer.
