hey everyone, as you know there isn't a tach in the dx... and i'm too broke to go get one... so can anyone tell me what the speed limit is on each gear so that i know when is that last point to shift?

i tried to test it last night, and i got to 65 in 2nd gear... i thought the engine would limit before then, so i dont know if my rev-limiter is working or not.

on my 90 STD tranny its(4speed)
35 mph 1st
70 mph 2nd
110 mph 3rd
120+ mph on 4th

dunno about a DX tranny
but on ur case u should get somewhere around trhere since the redline and fuel cutoff its close to 6600 rpms

 

1st-37mph
2nd-62mph
3rd-97
4th-108
5th-u aint goin no faster
