i want to get a set of skunk 2 or something coilovers

NOT THE FULL SET JUST THE COILOVER SPRINGS

and i was wondering if it would be bad to put them on my stock struts but just use the coils to lower the car? im not slamming it im only droppin it a inch or so.

 

Yes it is bad to put them on stock shocks!

They cannot handle the spring rates, and will blow. Leaving you with a bouncy and uncomfortable car.

If you only want to drop it an inch or so that's fine on stock shocks. They will wear prematurely, but not drastically as they would with the skunk2 rates.

For stock shocks and a modest drop you also need modest spring rates

Tein S. Tech would be a good solution for you to close some of the tire/fender gap and make the car look more "normal".

The stock shocks could also probably handle the rates offered for that with them being something around ~240/180 or so.

 

i have the skunk 2 springs...with monroe (pep boy) shocks...not that good of a ride =/ but its a pretty cool drop...im saving up for a complete coilover set..probably go with skunk2 coilovers..teins..or function and form..

 

Why would you get any of those when you could get progress, Koni, or AMR?

All of the things you have listed have competitors in the price range with better features and better warranties.
