Default Stolen PY 2000 ITR0074 recovered this morning

The Elizabeth NJ police department called me at 1AM this morning. There was nothing left of it - just a shell. I asked the lady who called me if there were any personal belongings in the car and she replied, "Honey, that car aint nothing but a shell. No interior, no engine, nothing". So, car was stolen Friday around noon and recovered Sunday PM. Sure doesn't take them long. By the way, for you golfers out there, keep an eye out for some cheap Titleist 690CB Forged irons 2-9I & 3 Vokey wedges (48,54, and 60). Titleist 9.5 975J Driver and 14.5 and 18.5 pro trajectory fairway woods. All brand new in a Nike tour stand golf bag. I bet they are for sale cheap somewhere in the Newark area. I wonder if they know what they have???? I'm off to the police department to release the shell to the insurance company. Later.

Sorry to hear that that they took everything. At least you know now. Take some pics for us and get ready to deal with the insurance company.

hey, just an idea...

my friend had a $1500 set of clubs stolen from his car. he called every pawn shop within 50 miles and explained the situation to the owners, and offered a cash reward for the person that called him when the low-life came in to sell the clubs.

sure enough, he got a call from one of the pawn shop owners saying that someone had come in, and wanted to sell an exact matching set of clubs, and how much would the guy give him? The owner of the shop said he'd have to have his friend who is a "golf expert" check 'em out before the purchase, so he told the guy to come back in a couple hours. so the owner hauled *** up to the shop, and sure enough the guy showed back up with the clubs.

The owner of the clubs had 3 friends from work with him, and they proceeded to break or bend an entire set of clubs (an older cheap set someone had) over the guy to teach him a lesson.

I"ll have to remember this technique if my clubs are ever stolen. *touches wood* Good thing very few sets of my clubs were made. It'll be really easy to identify them.

yshi - who hopes to never have to resort to his backup set

Is it possible to claim the insurance on lost belongings during a car theft?
I know it is possible for aftermarket items such as sounds systems, tires/wheels...etc.

Usually only items that are bolted down are covered by insurance, but you may want to check with your insurance company to find out what is covered under your policy.

If the car was in your home parking lot (ie driveway/garage) home insurance will cover the theft of the belongings in your car. My camera was stolen out of my car but since it was parked at home my home insurance covered it.

My homeowners insurance covered stereo equipment that was stolen out of my car than car insurnace wouldn't cover, and it wasn't even parked at home. So if you have homeowners, contact them about anything car insurance doesn't cover.

Call your agent and ask very detailed questions about this. I have supplemental coverage for cd's and whatnot on my daily driver. It specifically covers media and equipment. Now, if my golf clubs were stolen, that would fall under renters insurance. So the answer is: it all depends.
