I never had this issue until i got my liberty trany last year. Hondata recognizes each gear in the log until i get to 4th and then it flips between 4 and 5 in the log...which means my boost tables flip between tables(I have to set 4 and 5 the same)

I dont have a 5th gear...its not a huge issue...just a little annoying.

 

Simply change the gear ratio under parameters....

 

ive done all that

it will read 4th, then flip to 5th, and sometimes flip back to 4th on the log.

 

My guess is your ratio settings are wrong for your tranny...
That is the only reason you should be seeing the issue you are experiencing.

 

ive tried every stock fd ratio liberty has and every 4th gear ratio liberty has.

 

Post a datalog..
Also post what gear ratio settings you are using.

 

Just guessing because I don't use HONDATA, but maybe enter a completely ridiculous value for 5th gear so it will never cross the threshold.
