i took my stock oem side skirts off my 97civic which are a faded black color

and i just want them to match my lips that i spray painted black
can i just wash them and spray paint them black and it will work?

im not trying to get all fancy and primer and sand and layer-coat it or anything
i just want it black and i have black spray paint

 

I don't get the point of the question. Paint them like you painted the lips.

 

i highly recommend using black bumper/trim coat paint. it binds to the the plastic better than regular spray paint and is more flexible to keep it from chipping. i used it on the skirts of my '96 a year and a half ago.. they still look like new (when they're clean.. ).
