Default fuel pressure regulator install ???

i have z6 and i just bought an aftermarket fpr, yes from ebay, i believe my stock one is bad which is why i bought this one for cheap just to see if it fixes my problems. however im looking for a write up on how to install it but cant find anything. im confused if it should just literally replace the stock one, or not... i find things saying that it should go before or right after the fuel filter and still have to keep the stock one. but that defeats the purpose of replacing it if its bad. any help or ideas please?

There are two kinds. One that is a complete replacement and one that you have to cut the OE one in half to integrate it with the new. Either one is pretty much cake to install.
