Default Pounded out Hub, No C-Clip there?

I recently pounded out my hub and bearing and was getting ready to press a new one in, but there wasn't a 73 mm retaining clip behind the hub holding the bearing in?

Is this mandatory or can I get by without it since the hub nut technically holds it on?

Honda wants 8 bucks for one and they might have to order it and my Vx being down is killing my pockets, my other car only gets 20 mpgs and I'm a delivery driver lol.

Also tried to change my torque mount and that was a mistake. One nut that is welded inside the frame busted free now the bolt just spins, and the other bolt head is rounded from corrosion. I heard cutting it off and welding it on might cause it to fail because of the heat? Or should i just cut an access panel and use two locknuts with some shorter grade 8 bolts?

This car is a damn rust bucket! Lol. Any help would be great.

You need the retaining clip. When I pressed out my bearings I bought new ones. Don't skip it. It is there for a reason.

Did they have em in stock or did you have to special order them? Man this is why I hate cars I haven't fully rebuilt myself. You never know whats been rigged on it...At least if I rig something I know for what purpose lol. Kinda like how it looks like I'm going to have a rigged deal on my hands with the left torque mount. FML.

I'm thinking about just driving it for now with one bolt holding the toque mount on until I can pull the bumper off and cut an access panel. Then I can use a box wrench and a locknut to reattach it after I cut it off and pop the other weld free on the one that is rounded off.

This same **** happened to me on my trailing arm bushing. A damn weld popped on one of those bolts. Luckily it is the side that has two. I know of a good welding shop so I might just come at them with my problems and see what they can do. I'm dreading the rear suspension because I had the same problems on my Del Sol and it wasn't near this rusty.
