Sup guys: DA9 Pricing Question
Sup guys im about ready to buy my first real car. the one i currently have is my moms and im borrowing it but tags are about to expire so i need a car quick. im on a budget so i cant get any high grade teggys im planning on going with a da9.
So heres my question. How much would be a reasonable offer for a 91-93? da9? i see them on craigslist for 3500 and some for 2500 and so on and my budget is around 1500-2000. So what do you guys suggest i should try to offer so i wont be getting ripped off?
and 1 more question. does the da9 come with p/s and p/w?
thanks

Hey!
Good choice. From what I know, all models come with P/S, but i think only the LS and GS come with P/W. Whether it still works or not is a different story
I got mine for 1250, granted it has lots of rust, and 260,000km.
Pay attention to what has been done to the car; Usually the 3500 and 2500 listings will be for cars with aftermarket suspensions, etc. It is wise, in this example, to make sure you either: like the setup on the car, or go with a stock setup so you can modify it to your own spec.
Post some ads you came across, and we could probably help out better.

For a stock teg, a decent price would be no over 2000. I bought mine running and all for 1000. 91 ls wit gsr wheels, oem 1 piece headlights, etc... So if some1 has their stock ones for 2500 or something, pass it up and keep looking. Youll find one for a decent price.
Look for stock, unmodified car, the proverbial little old ladies car, it is a good be any G2 you find with mods already on it has been bagged on, [driven hard].
Pay a mechanic to go over the car, a check list of things needing attention right away is a good bargaining tool, if a mechanic suggests you need to spend $500 right away, take that off the asking price, including what the mechanic charged, never offer more then that.
Look for car with no rust on chassis, doors fenders hood and hatch/trunk lids can easily be replaced, chassis panels are expensive, and not a DIY job, to replace.
I would pay more for a rust free car with a blown or no engine then I would for one that is running but rusty.
Right now I am bugging an old lady, [75 or older] with a mint, and I do mean mint, 92 Integra LS to sell it to me, I keep running into her at the WalMart parking lot, and I always ask if she is ready to sell it, only old lady I know that likes to drive a standard.
Pay very close attention to the rear wheel arches it is where Integras start rusting first, inspect the inner side of wheel arch lip, if arch lip protector is still in place pull it off to inspect the lip. 94

there's a lot of variables to your question. look more at the condition as apposed to the price. try and find something with very little to no mods done.
as mentioned, it is strongly advised that you get a pre-purchase inspection done.
these are great cars for the price. it's a good choice. good luck on your seach

I found a lady selling her 92 DA9 for $500 it had 205k miles and cause it overheats and 3rd gear didn't work. Bought it with out even test driving it cause i was so excited, went to my shop and put coolant in it and drove it 40 miles to my house and there wasn't a problem at all, only thing there was was the water pump barely leaking. Drives fast and hard with no problems :]

No the GS came with power everything. The LS's dont have power windows. I just bought a 90 GS teg for 1200 with no rust and totally stock!! the blower motor was broken and i needed to replace the hub but totally worth it. I had an LS that i bought for 1400 that was all sorts of funked up. But i looked for a while and finly found one un touched not from jersey lol.

--QUOTE=el crapitan;45265418]the LS had comforts OPTIONAL when sold from the factory
Exactly y i stated very few 90-91 came wit power windows.
well my 91 ls has power windows and sunroof. so did my last 91 ls
and almost all 90-91 ls' that i've ever seen had them. almost. not trying to rag on you, bud. just trying to clear up misconceptions
i don't believe they were optional on the rs model. came standard on gs though. along with abs
Well it seemed like that wit the arguement goin back and forth. Im stating very few because of the exact reason that its an OPTIONAL feature.... Obviously there is gonna be fewer tegs wit optional power windows than those standard LS models with manual.

Another quick question. Is the da9 rly worth getting? like will i have a good amount of options to upgrade the car and what not?
Oh and 1 more thing..

the s14 240 is a sweet *** car. some say a bit underpowered for the heavy chassis though. as it still rocks the ka24d engine. same as the lighter, dual cam s13.
if it were me, and the s14 were standard, i'd certainly go with that. they are beautiful cars.
but tbh, for you, as a first car, you should go with the da. hondas are extremely user friendly, and the da is a great first car. best bang for buck honda. that and the eg. except i've never been into eg's. just me though i guess. the da's b18 engine has huge aftermarket support. it's a very well engineered motor. same goes for the rest of the car.
power steering. 4 wheel disc brakes. optional a/c, power windows, sunroof. and they're great looking cars.
these cars were produced during a time that japanese auto makers were spending an enormous percentage on development, and it shows.
you won't be dissatisfied
