Super Missle Filler Rod
Super Missle is a marketing name for 312 from Harris and Weldco. People spaz out when they hear it because missles are magical.
Its for dissimilar metals, I've heard varying opinions about it, I used it at my old job and it seemed to work alright, I haven't bought any 312 for myself though. I've read that pipe welders used to root pass 310 and cap pass 312 when welding mild to stainless but have since moved on to using straight 309 filler.

I've got some, but only used it a handful of times. I have yet to come across a situation where I NEEDED to use it. It has a high oxide content, and leaves a very colorful weld, even with poor gas coverage. The guys that I first heard about it from say that they use it when they don't know the particulars of what they're welding together, and also use it for dissimilar metals like McRussellpants mentioned. They also use it to weld roll cages together I guess... I wouldn't feel comfortable using it for any kind of exhaust work personally, but it gets used for other random jobs around the shop sometimes
not my bead, but I'm pretty sure that this vband flange was welded to the cast housing with "super missile"

It flows a little different when compared to 309. On the subject of 309, i used some on a cast DSM manifold a couple of months ago. It was a rush job, customer needed a last minute EGT bung repaired and i didn't have any "super missile" on hand. It worked great.
