My buddy just picked up a black '05 Type S (1 owner, 22k) that's bone stock. He's currently overseas per Marine Corp but is trying to put together a list of parts he'll need to make his car a full bolt-on car. He asked me what all that consists of and honestly, I don't know.

We're both new to Hondas (formerly Mustang guys) and are trying to figure out what all he needs. Any help will be appreciated!

Also, listing the best companies for said parts would be great! Thanks!

here would be my list:
Injen Cold Air Intake
Hybrid Racing Throttle Body
RBC Intake Manifold (with karcepts adapter)
Hondata Intake Manifold Gasket
Race Header (so many to choose from... DCRH is good bang for buck)
Full Catback exhaust (again personal preference)
Honda Kpro with tune

 

So so far we have an Injen cold air intake, Hybrid Racing throttle body, and an RBC intake all tuned with a K-PRO.

What about a DC Sports header? And as far as a cat-back, something that sounds good WITHOUT a huge tip.

Funds are not unlimited, but money isn't really an issue for my buddy.

I won't be doing any of the parts searching lol. I only agreed to help my buddy find out all the parts he needs and the top brands if possible. But I did talk to him the other day and asked kindly what his budget was for the bolt-ons and he said no more than $5k not including the cost of the Hondata K-PRO and tune.

If he wants to spend $5k then just get a Full Race kit and call it a day.

 

Like I said man, we know NOTHING about a Honda. My car is a bone stock 2000 EX coupe and other than the average appearance mods, I plan to keep it that way.

I guess the real question now is how hard installing all these parts is gonna be. We're good with cars, we just have to learn all the new mechanics of these. I guess we'll see in about four months.

Man I already miss the simplicity of Mustangs.

 

Skunk2 74mm Throttle Body and Pro Series Intake Manifold were my choices. The IM is port-matched to their 70mm TB so I brought the plenum out 4mm and micro-polished it as far in as I could reach. I went through all your standard sandpaper grits (240, 320, 400, 500, 600, 800, 1000, 1500, 2000, 3000) but I took it much farther and ran "micro-mesh sanding cloths" through it all the way up to 40,000 grit, then polishing compound and a dremel for the final polish to a mirror finish. With the Injen Cold Air, race headers, pulleys, clutch/UL flywheel, Skunk2 3" MegaPower RR exhaust and the much needed K-Pro that i-VTEC is screamin! Not a ricey/raspy sound either, loud and deep considering its a 4 banger.

DCRH is junk, would get the clubrsx or krrh instead..

full cat-back for me would be the skunk2 megapower "RR"

add some ITR cams too

 

with a $5k budget I'd definitely get me a k24a2 longblock and swap it in. and if money still there put some cams in her and with the bolt ons that Spaz said except KRRH
