type-r head

Hey i just got a type-r head in a trade and the dude told me that i cant do LS-V bc it will blow so was j/w is it true? and 2nd can i use a type-r shift linkage on a DA?

Whoever you bought it from is full of ****. I would double check to see if the head is in good shape.
