Greebler's Integra Restoration Thread
This thread is to log the restoration process of this car. It is a total project car and not a DD so time is on my side. I am mechanically inclined and what I can't figure out I have resources for. Any incite would be appreciated!!!!!
Specs:
94’ Integra GSR
98’ B18C5 sourced via PasswordJDM
::: See sig for other unimportant mod stuff :::
The Situation:
The car had this C5 installed 4 years ago that, as usual, was “under” 30k. The engine ran fine for 2 years, way under 10k annual mileage, and 1.2 years ago it started to burn white smoke and then sat for 1 year. Possible bent valve and or piston rings gone bad but no compression test has been done to my knowledge.
Back Story:
The car belongs to a good friend and went with him to Boston for 1 year. It was then shipped back to TX where it sat at his mechanics for 1 year. He now lives in NYC and I acquired the car for free. Long story short the car was parked on an incline in Boston, front of car going down, and water leaked through the hatch/taillights. This slightly flooded the interior up to the bottom of the ECU but I have not taken it apart to inspect for corrosion.
What I have done:
- Stripped interior and sanded rust spots and repainted.
- Battery was used for 6/mo. And sat for 1 year and is dead so I am picking up a new one.
--> More to come <--
