Default b16a transmissions?

Ok i know that with the jdm b16a you can get different transmissions. I saw the stamp on my tranny today and found out it is a y1 tranny and i have a pw0 ecu. Do any of you know what the top speed of this tranny is with the governer being taken out (the megun rechipped ecu takes out the speed limit)??? I heard that there is a b16a tranny that goes crazy high speed like 156 mph?? Is this the tranny...thx

jdm b16a ecu's have a nice speed limiter of 115mph.
if you get the speed limited removed (by chipping), there is no more speed limiter.

I think you mean jdm ecu's have the speed limit, not jdm trannys just to clarify.

i have a jdm S1 tranny in mine, ecu is chipped, no speedlimiter, taken it up to 135 at 6800 rpms ihad another 1400 rpms before my limiter. a y1 should be able to go higher than an s1 (it'll just take longer to get there) so u might be able to reach 156.

The speed limit is not determined by the tranny, your problem is the ecu. As mentioned earlier just have the ecu rechipped. This will be alot easier if the ecu was a pr3. Go wiht the s1 or the ys1, both have better overall gearing compared to the y1, and they atleast have the 4.4 final. the y1 has tall gearing, and a gay *** 4.26 final. Not a fun combination for NA applications.

peace,
cahzz

I've got a 90 or 91 model US LS tranny Code a-1. I like the gearign ALOT with my turbo. I get about 11 miles per hour per 500 RPM, so in theory, at 8kRPM in 5th, my car would be running about 180 MPH :D

And I can rev my car to 9k, so 200 MPH, here we come, dammit!
