I have a 95 Civic that ran perfectly until one day my wife decided to take my keys and cranked the car without disabling the factory alarm system. I wasn't around so I have no idea what she did and of course she doesn't know what she did wrong! Now the engine turns, try to start but nothing else.
I have checked EVERYTHING!: Fuel pump OK, ICM is Ok and spark plug fires; PGM-FI main relay is also OK. I have sprayed carburetor cleaner into the intake manifold and crank the engine with open throttle and it almost starts until it runs out of fumes without backfiring meaning timing is good, good spark and there is even some gas smell but nothing else so i suspect it has to do with the alarm system disabling the gas flow or something similar. I override the alarm with the push bottom under the driver side panel but it wont make a difference. My Hynes Manual said nothing about alarm tests or any similar and I ran out of options. I need a guru on this one....Please help!

 

Okay. What kind of alarm do you have that let's you get into the car without alarming and also lets you crank the car?

 

This is a 2d hand 95Civic with factory alarm but the system doesn't seems to be working properly. If you get in the car with the system on you can hear the siren very softly (like being a mile away). I actually want to pry if out completely but I'm afraid I can mess up the whole electrical system. It may be it interfering now...I dont know.

 

Just find the alarm and trace all the wires back. And reconnect any connections

 

try unplugging the battery to reset ecu, worth a shot

 

Done all that and nothing changes. What governs the electricals to the fuel injectors? Could it be the computer?

 

It could be tapped into the fuel pump main relay or ign. When my alarm was acting up I just took it out problem fixed.
